when you were a kid in the summertime when school was out ?

We use to play kickball with all the kids on the block in the evening when it cooled down.  Rode our bikes to friends houses.

In the heat we never had a pool so we would read a book in the shade.

Most of the summer we had a cottage on the lake and would swim and tan and play .

Kids don't seem to do that anymore.

ah yes the good old days...you went outside in the morning and didn't come back till dinnertime! And nothing was organized, you just 'played'.
Rode bikes, swam, walked to the local ice cream stand, played ball....
I also read a lot! As a teen, slept late and tanned too!
